Otters are the most brilliant creatures are on Earth.

Not because of their brain capacity or measured intelligence.

It’s because they are smart enough to know how to live life: by spending their days having fun.

Otters love to play!

You’ll often find otters splashing around in the water or near the water, enjoying themselves.

And they love making up their own games, as you can see in the video below.

Apparently, snow days are even for otters. This cheeky lot decided they would hang out on a local homeowner’s dock and go sledding.

Except they didn’t need any sleds. They are the sleds.

They just slid around back and forth on the dock on their bellies. Once one of them did it, the others caught on.

It looks like they were even racing each other down the dock. And when they were done, they just slid back off into the water for some winter water sports time.

Oh, to be an otter!

When otters aren’t playing, they like taking a snooze, and they do so by sleeping together, huddled up, and holding hugging or holding has so they stay together and don’t float away.

It’s also a good way to share body heat. Aside from being incredibly adorable, the otter is described as “charismatic.”

They’re a part of the weasel family and live on every continent except Australia and Antarctica.

They’re about 13 different species of otter, and they mostly live in freshwater.

They are known to hang around rivers, lakes, and wetlands. However, you’ll also find them in the Pacific Ocean.

Another fun fact about others is they have very stinky poop.

But according to National Geographic, it’s more like a good stink than a bad stink.

Their poop, which is known as spraints, is said to smell like violets. It’s believed to be caused by their seafood diet.

Otters eat fish, crustaceans, and other sea animals.

They really love shellfish. To get them open, an otter will float on its back and place a rock on its chest.

The otter will then smash the shellfish over the rock until it breaks open.

Most otters give birth on land in dens.

An otter will learn to swim after about two months when mom pushes them into the water.
